Orlando (2024) This costume design is for the Character Orlando from the Virginia Woolf Novel of the same name. This design is for Orlando at the beginning of the novel which takes place during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. Orlando lives for around 300 years and throughout their life works on a poem titled the Oak Tree. The oak tree and nature in general are a central theme of the story so they are what I chose to base the costume around.

The doublet is made of silk, digitally printed with a custom oak leak design. it is adorned with velvet and grosgrain ribbon layered to created a striped effect. One sleeve is made with cotton sateen and the other chiffon, both hand dyed to match shades found in the doublet. Because the story of Orlando deals with themes of gender this costume is designed for a male character and made to fit a female body. Under the doublet is a custom made corset, designed to flatten the bust.

Orlando (2024)

Design for Hebe (2025) This project was in collaboration with the National Trust for their exhibit Dress To Impress at Polesden Lacey. We chose a photo from the Duchess of Devonshires 1897 Fancy Dress Ball and reimagined them in the context of a modern costume ball similar to the Met Gala. The photo I chose was of the Countess of Westmoreland dressed as the Greek goddess Hebe.

Hebe is the Greek goddess of eternal youth and is often featured with the symbol of her father the Eagle of Jupiter. This Costume pulls inspiration from classical Greek drapery and mixes it with more modern means of fabric manipulation and decoration. The dress is made of custom dyed crinkle silk with a hand smocked midsection in a honeycomb pattern. Each point fixed with a glass bead in varying shades of purple gold and green. The cape is gold chiffon with printed and foiled gold peacock feathers, to pay homage to Hebe's mother Hera. The cape is fixed at the shoulders with hand painted leather feathers. finished off with a welded and beaded headpiece.

Design for Hera (2025) This project was to design the Greek gods in the context of a modern costume ball similar to the Met Gala. This costume also pulls inspiration from the sacred birds associated with each Greek god. Hera's sacred bird is the Peacock.

Design for Athena (2025) This project was to design the Greek gods in the context of a modern costume ball similar to the Met Gala. This costume also pulls inspiration from the sacred birds associated with each Greek god. Athena's sacred bird is the Owl.

Design for Ares (2025) This project was to design the Greek gods in the context of a modern costume ball similar to the Met Gala. This costume also pulls inspiration from the sacred birds associated with each Greek god. Ares sacred bird is the vulture.

Design for Apollo (2025) This project was to design the Greek gods in the context of a modern costume ball similar to the Met Gala. This costume also pulls inspiration from the sacred birds associated with each Greek god. Apollos sacred bird is the swan.

Design for Lady Macbeth (2024) This project reimagines Lady Macbeth in the context of a series of music videos telling the story of Macbeth from her perspective. The costume is designed to strip away in layers to demonstrate Lady Macbeths mental and emotional state throughout the story.

Lady Macbeth (2024) This is a satin dress hand beaded to resemble blood where Lady Macbeth has wiped her hands on her dress. the harness is made from hand dyed cotton fabric and attaches to the Tudor inspired corset underneath.
